આખો દિવસ
શિકારની તાકમાં સ્થિર બેઠેલા જોવા મળે છે.
ખિસકોલીઓની દોડાદોડ અને ચિક્-ચિક્
મારા આંખ-કાનમાં સતત રોપાયાં કરે છે.
ક્યારેક બુલબુલ,
તો ક્યારેક ઑરિએન્ટલ રોબિન,
ક્યારેક દેવચકલી
તો ક્યારેક પોપટ, મેના,કાબર,કાગડા-
-મારા બાગનાં બચેલાં વૃક્ષોના રંગ
મોસમથીયે વધુ ઝડપે બદલતા રહે છે.
કોયલનો ટહુકો તો
આંબાનાં મૂળની જેમ જ
જાણે બાગની જમીનમાં
ખોડાઈ જ ગયો હોય એમ હટતો જ નથી.
ચકલીનું ચીં-ચીં
અને કબૂતરનું ઘૂ-ઘૂ
તો આમેય કદી ખોવાયાં જ ન્હોતાં.
