ચારે સોનેટ સાથે અને ફરીથી માણતાં વિષય, ભાવ, અને છંદ વૈવિધ્ય સ્પર્શી જાય છે.
અજંટાની ગુફાઓ- કવિતાના વાચક/ભાવકને અભિપ્રેત એવી છટા, પદાવલિ અને ભાવવિચાર ને પરંપરાગત (ઉદાત્ત શૈલિમાં ) રીતે રજૂ કરે છે.
હોત હું જો કલાપી- માં ઊર્મિ પ્રબળતા અને કલાપીની યાદ અપાવે એવી પદાવલીથી કલાપીને ઉચિત અંજલિ અપાઈ છે. ભૂકંપમાં હરિગીત અને એના પરંપરિત (ખંડિત) ઉપયોગથી ભૂકંપના હાર્દને સ્પર્શતો છંદ પ્રયોજવાનું કૌશલ નજરે ચડે છે. ભૂકંપ/ભૂમિને લગતી વાત બાબતે અક્ષરમેળને બદલે તળ અને લોકજીવનને નજીક એવો માત્રામેળ છંદ કવિ ખપમાં લે છે એ પણ સૂચક છે.
ગઝલ-સૉનેટમાં ભાવ પરિવર્તન સાથે જે રીતે બે ગઝલને વણી લેવામાં આવી છે એ એક અનોખો અને સફળ પ્રયોગ છે. આ સૉનેટમાં ગયા / રહ્યા વાંચતા જ ઉમાશંકરના ‘ગયા વર્ષો તેમાં ..’ અને ‘રહ્યા વર્ષો તેમાં…’ યાદ આવી જાય છે.
